Cyrus Parties On With Kelly Osbourne

Teen pop sensation Miley Cyrus dances her troubles away following her drug scandal last week by partying with her Under cover movie co-star Kelly Osbourne. The 18-year-old singer/actress sparked an outrage on Friday after film footage of her smoking a pipe, as seen to contain legal high Salvia, was posted online. Miley came under attack from anti-drug campaigners and her own father, Billy Ray Cyrus, admitted he was “sad”
and “sorry” for his daughter’s behaviour. But Cyrus refuses to let her worries get to her this weekend as she hits the clubs in New Orleans, LA. In the early hours of Saturday with Osbourne and their fellow film stars.

My thinking of hearing that Miley Cyrus smoking Salvia is somewhat a huge deal and some what not so much. Even though it’s illegal, everyone still does it. Why would the press want to post this all over the world? It is just to make her a bad person and to make her look bad? Its her own life and she can do whatever she wants to do with it. Even though she is a teen pop and little kid sensation as “Hannah Montana”, the little kids don’t need to know what Salvia is. To me it doesn’t really matter, what she does.

Bieber free and clear of charges

Richmond RCMP said Tuesday they won’t lay charges in an alleged assault that may have involved pop star Justin Bieber two months ago. On October 16th, police received a call from a man who said his 12-year-old son had been hit the day before another boy while playing laser tag at Planet Lazer. The boy, celebrating his birthday, suffered “minimal injuries”, police said. The Ontario teen sensation, who was in town to play a sold out show to throngs and screaming teenagers and Rogers Arena  Oct. 19th was linked to the incident. Witnesses spotted Justin Bieber that afternoon at the laser-tag facility, and rumors ran wild around the world that he allegedly assaulted the boy.

Why would a Ontario teen sensation assault a boy in Planet Lazer because the 12 year old is beating Justin. That wouldn’t be right. He wouldn’t do that.  But maybe people think he did it but it was really someone else. But who knows. People should be getting their facts straight before a rumor like this (which never happened) goes around the world. Some people probably still think that he is a bad guy for hitting a 12 year old boy. Im surprised kids still love him and its like they forgot what he did  like it never happened.

Facing her world with courage

Samantha Mantyka, young girl in Delta who would probably faint is she met Justin Bieber. The bright-eyed 10-year-old Gibson Elementary student knows Biebers favourite colours (blue and purple), the he has a dog named Sammy (just like her), and his middle name (Drew). And all she wants for Christmas is to meet him. Samantha was diagnosed with cancer in 2009 and she wants to make her daughter’s holiday memories count. When Samantha first found out an aggressive tumor was growing on her brain stem, she underwent round after around of grueling chemotherapy and radiation. The next spring, family and friends celebrated Samantha’s end of chemo. But in November, the doctors told her the terminal cancer had reappeared on her spine. Family friends are holding a fundraiser to help send the family to Disney World.

Seeing such a cute little girl, I don’t blame the Mother being scared outta her wits seeing her daughter hooked up to tubes or wheeled in for surgery. Samantha is one brave girl seeing what I had read. Having cancer on her brain stem and then in her spine is just too much for a 10 year old little Delta girl. The family friends are doing a great thing to send Samantha’s family to Disney world. If she meets Justin Bieber for her Christmas Present, she would be one lucky girl.

Closure for child predator case

Fifteen years after an alleged Vancouver predator attacked his first young victim, police on Monday finally announced his capture. April 1 1995, 13 year old girl  accompanied by a man as she walked through  Lord Nelson Elementary School playground. Telling her he had a knife; the man dragged her to an outdoor stairwell at the school and sexually assaulted her. All this time that the girl has been waiting for justice, she’s now 28 years old. RCMP linked the suspect to two other sexual assaults one in 2007 to a 14 year old in Delta, and a 2009 Surrey case where e sex-year-old was assaulted while her brother and he friends stood helplessly nearby. Ibrats Hexamer, 42, was arrested Friday in Vancouver. He is facing a total of 23 charges, including sexual assault, under lawful confinement, uttering threats and robbery.

I think that this man is sick. Why would he be assaulting young kids, such as age 6, and young teenagers, such as 13 and 14. This guy deserves whatever he gets.  In my eyes, this guy doesn’t deserve to live, or he’s in jail for life. If he goes to jail and is let out after a certain period of time, he will just go back into doing what he was doing and assault more young youth.

Shooting worst in 10 years: Cops

Police were back in Vancouver’s West Side on Mondays investigating what could be the biggest gang shooting. The neighbours around Oak Street and  22nd Avenueafter 10 people between the ages of 20 and 36 were hit by a spray of bullets early Sunday morning.  ”I heard about 12 shots between two o’clock and 2:08, and then I heard a woman scream. [I] looked out, and say two cars heading south. They looked to be racing.’ RCMP arrived and found many people with gunshot wounds in the street. Nine people were taken to hospital, six men and 3 women. Eight women of whom remained in hospital on Monday Many were taken into custody.

I think that this article shows how not so safe the downtown East Side is.  From all the news that I’ve seen about it, it wouldn’t be a place where I’d like to be around or even live. Hearing or even seeing 10 shootings in 8 minutes would be just horrifying to most people including the small children who might have seen. These people in gangs have to seriously smarten up and stop trying to kill people. Just because you’re in a gang, it doesn’t mean you have to be shooting people. Everyone deserves to live just as much as you do. There’s way to much of it going on in this world and I think it needs to end.

Locals busted in child porn probe

A global investigation into online child porn has resulted in the arrests of 57 men (two from Vancouver). 218 charged in total have been laid against these 57 men to date. 25 are from Canada, including 3 from BC. 26 from U.S, and 6 from Europe. Allen and Wilson were charged for accessing and distributing child porn in May and October, respectively. Both men were charged in 2005. Both are also released and are waiting for court dates. “The images uncovered were horrific” said Vancouver Police Sgt. Richard Akin. “They are absolutely crimes against the most innocent people in our society

57 people. Why on earth would guys have enough courage to actually distribute it? That’s actually gross and not very adult like. These guys are complete rapists. I’m very happy that the whole 57of them are not in Vancouver. If they were, id have a lot of looking out to do. I don’t know why people even do this. To get attention? Well, that’s not a very good way to. This whole thing makes me sick to my stomach and I’m glad the RCMP are trying to do something about it.

Two teens charged

Two teenaged males are charged for aggravated assault and assault with a weapon after two men were beaten with baseball bats near Squamish Nation reserve in North Vancouver. One of the victims has a fractured skull from the Friday morning attack at West 5th street  and Mahon Avenue by Eslha7an, AKA (Mission Indian Reserve). The 18 and 17- year-old are expected their first court appearance Monday. The Squamish Nation reserves on the North Shore have been sites of quite a few violent crimes in the past couple years. The Squamish Nation website says its 3,324 members live from the North Shore to north of Howe Sound and the Sunshine Coast.

Hearing and seeing this in the news and the newspapers is just horrifying. I don’t see the reason or point in attacking older people if they haven’t done anything wrong. Maybe they didn’t do it to you, but if you hear about what someone does, it doesn’t give you the right to attack them. Why can’t everyone just get along and have no fighting happening. North Vancouver doesn’t need to have a name of having so many people killed. From what I’ve seen in my life, North Van is a pretty safe place to be.

Teens arrested for driver assault

Early Saturday horrified transit supervisors listened in as a N. Van bus driver was beaten. Coast Mountain Bus Company’s Derek Zabel said a driver with 5 years of experience was doing the 228 Lynn Valley or the 240 Vancouver, his usual route on the intersection of 15th and Grand Boulevard around 1 A.M.

The Emergency alarm went off and Transit cops and RCMP were arriving at the scene. The found the driver suffering from a serious head wound. He was taken to hospital and then released shortly after he was treated. He will be expected to make a full recovery.

RCMP announced that two 17 year olds were arrested and then released into their parent’s custody. They will appear in court on a later date.

Seeing or hearing about a bus driver being beaten by two teenagers or even anyone is just brutal and makes me feel sick. They were just doing their job and not doing anything wrong and they suddenly get beaten because they don’t want to pay their fare or don’t want to listen to the operator of the bus.

That’s not fair to the bus driver because he’s getting beaten and going to the hospital for no reason at all. All because he asked the kids where their fare was or he refused to let them on. It doesn’t matter weather they were intoxicated or not. That’s just not right. And that’s not what North Vancouver is represented as.

I’m happy that the two teenagers didn’t get away. They deserved what they got because they got themselves into it.

Plenty of beds to go around

The Salvation Army and the United Gospel Mission are saying that they have the ability to accommodate many more people who are seeking warm places to stay to get out of the cold and low temperatures on the weekend. UGM had enough room for 60 people to stay but only half came. The Salvation army also had lots of room for the ones outside on the streets to stay for Saturday night, but only 28 showed up to stay at the  35-bed crosswalk center. Only 12 people stayed at the 35 bed Anchor. Spokesman Derek Weiss says ‘It was a bit surprising’. All shelters are staying open throughout the winter holiday until it begins to warm up and the snow melts. As the weather soon enough is to get colder during the week, both Weiss and Fossen say they are ready to shelter more and more people.

What I think about this is that everyone including the Vancouver Police Department is trying to do the best they very can for the men and women on the streets with no homes. They want to make sure that they are warm and that they don’t freeze from the upcoming cold cold weather. Some families are letting their loved ones on the street stay with them for a while but it will not last long. Others need to open their eyes and see that there are shelters out there around trying to help them and have places to sleep that doesn’t involve being outside in the snow of trying to sleep outside in the snow.

Snow and ice buildup cause Canada Line failure, two cars stall between Vancouver and Richmond

Officials say that they will be running de-icing trains  every so often during upcoming snowstorms after a  section of the $2 billion Canada Line was temporarily shut down by the weather Thursday morning. Two trains stalled which were full with passengers on two different parts of the tracks during rush hour because of ice and snow building up on the track. One train had to be pushed to the station because it got stuck in between.  They had to shut down the Canada Line for the time being. Service wasn’t restored until later afternoon. They had to set up a buss shuttle between Bridgeport and Marine Drive stations to handle big groups of transit users.

The Expo and Millennium line for sky trains seemed to seemed to be working perfectly normal, but they were also very crowded. Having the Canada Line not working, it disrupted a lot of passengers trying to get to work. They tried to push the train back to the previous stop after it came to a sudden stop half way through the stations, but then it ending up colliding with a de-icing train so it pushed the train to the next coming stop (Bridgeport), so the passengers could get off and board a bus to Marine Drive. About 15 centimeters of snow fell over Vancouver, Wednesday night. Heavy rains and warming up temperatures came about too and washed most of the snow away and turned some into ice.

I agree with what is going on with the de-icing trains and that it might be a good thing and will work, but if it’s a really big blizzard and its coming down pretty bad, then the de-icing trains might not do a good job as they might have expected it too do. They might want to put heating lamps around the track so the snow doesn’t stick to it and make it hectic for the passengers trying to get to and from work or even the airport to catch a very very important flight.
